What is a WebQuest?
Bernie Dodge, the inventor of the WebQuest, defined WebQuests as "an inquiry oriented activity in which most or all of the information is drawn from the Web," (Starr, 2000). A WebQuest is a great tool for integrating technology into the curriculum, and is a great way to utilize cooperative learning. WebQuests can be designed for use with all ages and subjects. Dodge also said that he designed [WebQuests] to engage kids on authentic problems and help kids work collaboratively," (Barack, 2005, p.26). The WebQuest is also intended to incorporate higher order thinking skills, such as synthesis, analysis and evaluation (Starr, 2000).
